Blossom and Grow: 2 Year Olds

Fridays will have a little different look and name to them for the fall of 2011.  A brand new program for two-year-olds with their parent will be offered on Fridays.  This two-year-old class provides a safe and nurturing environment for two year-olds with their parents to experience preschool for the very first time!
  • Friday class options 9:00am-10:30am; 10:00-11:30 am; 11:30-1:00pm; 12:30-2:00pm
  • Specific class times will be determined by majority request
  • Your child must be 2 by August 1st to enroll
  • January-May class is 2 hours in length without parents

Growing Steps: 3 and Older

The program is staffed by two teachers and it prepares children for an easier transition to preschool.  In the Growing Steps class the children learn to follow directions and develop good manners.  Lessons are designed around weekly themes and activities.  The activities include Circle Time with a daily devotion, songs, finger plays and stories.  Math and science activities are set out throughout the day.  Our centers include theme based dramatic play, math, science and creative art.  The children use fine motor skills to paint, draw, cut and glue. They develop large motor skills using the climber and other equipment.

  • Your child must be 3 by August 1st to enroll

First Steps: 3 Year Old Classes

In the First Steps class the children begin their day by choosing their name tag and identifying their name on the attendance board.  This exposes them to writing and letter recognition. During Circle Time each child is assigned a job such as weather, sweeper, snack helper, line leader and calendar helper.  Free time and the art activity follow Circle Time with the math and science activities set around the room. After a healthy snack the children participate in large motor activities and end their day at preschool with a story and song.

Stepping Stones Too: 3-4 Year Old Classes

The Stepping Stones Too is designed for 3 and 4 yr. old children.  The curriculum is designed to follow the State of Ohio Preschool Standards.  Activities are prepared around a monthly theme and are hands-on early interactive experiences.  During Center Time the children will focus on curriculum that encompasses Social Studies, Math, Science and Literacy.   The teachers guide the children through each activity as they actively explore these topics in the classroom.     

  • Tuesday, Thursday AM session from 9:00-11:30
  • Your child must be toilet-trained and turn 4 by January 1st 2013 to be enrolled

Stepping Stones: 4-5 Year Old Classes

The Stepping Stones class is designed for 4 yr. old children who are preparing to enter Kindergarten. The curriculum is designed to follow the State of Ohio Preschool Standards. Activities are prepared around a monthly theme and are hands-on early interactive experiences. During Center Time the children will focus on curriculum that encompasses Social Studies, Math, Science and Literacy. The teachers guide the children through each activity as they actively explore these topics in the classroom.

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday AM session from 9:00-11:30
  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday PM session from 12:30-3:00
  • Your child must turn 4 by August 1st to be enrolled

 

Leaps 'n' Bounds: Pre K 4-5 Year Old Classes

The Leaps ‘n’ Bounds Pre-k class is designed for older 4’s or children whose parents choose to wait to send them to Kindergarten.  This class has an expanded curriculum and explores topics in more depth.  The curriculum also encourages independent learning especially during Center Time for children to practice their academic skills according to the State of Ohio Preschool Standards. This class places a strong emphasis on language arts,
writing, math and social studies. 
 
This class is designed for children who will attend kindergarten during the next school year.  Past preschool experience is helpful.

  • Tuesday through Thursday PM session from 12:30-3:00
