Our Staff

Epiphany is blessed to have such a dedicated and specialized staff.  Not only are they good at what they do, they are faithful, and they genuinely have fun working together!

If you have a question for any of our staff members, click on their name below and you will be directed to our contact page.  For an even friendlier welcome, call the office at 614-837-2826 or just stop in.

Pastor Brad Gee

My hometown is Conneaut, Ohio. I graduated from Allegheny College, Meadville, Pennsylvania, with a degree in history. I also earned a Master of Divinity degree at Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio.

Prior to arriving at Epiphany in May, 2017, I served two congregations-one in Ohio and the other in Michigan-and also served on the administrative team at Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio.

As the relatively new pastor of Epiphany, I have been impressed with our congregation’s efforts to serve the forgotten, the invisible and the truly poor people of this world.

I invite you to be our guest for Sunday worship, Wednesday evening dinner, bible studies, book discussion groups, children and family ministries and community service projects.

Please feel free to contact me at pastorbrad@epiphany-lutheran.com, if you have any questions about what it means to live as a follower of Jesus.

Pastor Carl RayburnPastoral Assistant and Bookkeeper- Pastor Carl Rayburn

A native of Lima, Ohio, I'm a graduate of Trinity Lutheran Seminary (Columbus). In the past, I've served as Pastor with Augsburg Lutheran Church (Cincinnati) and with Grace Lutheran Church (Columbus). I've also served as the Director of the International Family Resource Center (Cincinnati), an organization that serves immigrants and refugees. I'm currently serving as Pastor with Hope Lutheran Church (Columbus) on a 3/4 time basis and, in addition, am pleased to serve with Epiphany as the Pastoral Associate.

Jeff Mitchell

Minister of Christian Education- Jeff Mitchell

I'm glad you are taking the time to check out our website.  I have been serving as part of this terrific staff for 15 years now as the Minister of Christian Education.  Before that I worked in Lima, Ohio following my years of seminary.

After just one visit to Epiphany I think you will feel the warmth, the depth and the generosity of this family of faith.  If I can be of any help getting you plugged into our life together, I would be honored.

Terry McCandlessMinister of Music- Terry McCandless

I began doing ministry  here at Epiphany in March of 2001.  Working with the many talented people within the congregation and our community  who share a passion for meaningful worship has been a real privilege.    Before I came to Epiphany I was for many years at another large Lutheran congregation as well as time spent in the Episcopal, Methodist and Presbyterian churches.   I taught at Otterbein College for 5 years and for the last 10 years have been on the adjunct faculty at Kenyon College teaching organ and harpsichord.   I love to travel and spend time every summer in Europe both to perform/study and to enjoy  the museums, music,  and culture of other peoples.  Having a world view helps me to understand the diversity in ministry right here in Central Ohio.

Ali AdamsMinister of Youth - Ali Adams

I am the Minister of Youth at Epiphany.  I began serving at Epiphany in January 2008 after serving Trinity Lutheran Church in Valparaiso, Indiana as their Director of Youth and Family Ministries for a little over two years.  I graduated Valparaiso University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Theology and Youth, Family, and Education Ministries.  I work with youth of all ages through different events and programs throughout the year.  My hope for all youth is that they get to experience genuine encounters with Christ and that they learn to walk the journey of faith; being filled with wonder and awe as they discover how being believers connect us all in God’s HUGE family!

Morning Office Administrator - Karen Augenstein

I have been working at Epiphany Lutheran Church since 2006 as the secretary but began planting my roots back in 2003 as a preschool teacher in our fantastic program. Since moving back to the Central Ohio area from Cincinnati, my family and I have enjoyed the numerous programs and activities in Pickerington, not limited to Tae-Kwon-Do, soccer, PYAA sports, movies on the barn, summer concert series, Epiphany VBS and Day Camp, and others too numerous to list! Epiphany Lutheran Church is such a welcoming, supportive community to belong to! Not many people can say, “I LOVE coming to work!”

  Afternoon Office Administrator -Dori Holbrook

As both the afternoon secretary and a worshiper at Epiphany, I get to experience our church in two different but equally rewarding ways! I love taking care of our members and visitors and hope that when they hang up the phone or leave the office, they do so with a smile. I consider myself lucky to belong to this Epiphany family!

I grew up in Petersburg, OH, a small town outside of Youngstown. I graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in Education. I have been a teacher, a stay-at-home mom, a mortgage consultant and a secretary.

I have lived in Las Vegas, NV; Kunsan, South Korea; Dayton, OH and finally landed in Canal Winchester in 2000.

I love spending time with my husband Matt, my son Tyler, and friends. I also enjoy reading, traveling, scuba diving, biking, hiking and participating in any outdoor activities.

If you are in the building in the afternoon, stop in and say “hello”! We have candy!

 Preschool Director- Heidi Stover

'The mission of Epiphany Lutheran Preschool is to inspire children’s natural curiosity to learn through discovery and play in a loving, Christian environment.’ You are welcome to visit the preschool anytime. I look forward to sharing our program and the special ministry we have with the congregation and community. I have served in  Lutheran congregations in the Columbus area for over 30 years teaching preschool, directing youth and education programs, and children’s and adult hand bell and vocal choirs. It has been exciting and rewarding to be the preschool administrator at Epiphany since 2010.  Currently, I live in Bexley with my husband. Our two children are grown. Our daughter and son-in-law live in Columbus and our son lives in Louisville, Kentucky. When I’m not at the preschool I enjoy walking, reading, gardening, playing the piano and spending time with my family.
